THE WAREHOUSE BAND
LIFE-LOVE-MUSIC
Our story could be said to have begun in the mid-90s is Naples, FL. A group of high school kids built a friendship around a shared passion for rock music. We were incredibly fortunate that Ben's dad, the legendary love guru, Bill Herbst, had a warehouse deep in the pines of his property where he kept a treasure trove of guitars, amplifiers, microphones, speakers, drums, and even a Hammond organ. It was there we all first played together and discovered the magic of making music with friends. Over 30 years later we have scattered over the southeast US but with bonds of friendship that have only grown stronger.
As we all started to hit our 40s, we decided it was time to complete a bucket list item to record an album of 10 original songs. We were again fortunate that Bill has continued to grow and refine his "warehouse" into the fully functional Herb St. Recording Studio in Hendersonville, NC. After months of zoom meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic, we got together for an incredible weekend blitz of recording, followed by one additional weekend of overdubs. Thus "Rings of Saturn" came to be.
We had so much fun together, we knew it couldn't stop there. So after Saturn we forged ahead and now have Mothership Trajectory, Love Light of Venus and now Last Stop Before Neptune completed, representing 4 of the planets in our solar system (plus some Kuiper Belt Objects floating here and there).
Over the years the group has grown to encompass more musicians and creatives. It's been a wonderful ride so far and I hope to keep it going to complete the full planetary cycle.
